You may have already noticed I'm still working on this site. Just to give you a little background on it, I thought I'd post a summary of why it is here and how it came about.
First of all, the name "enkognedo" is a name I chose many, many years ago to symbolize my uniqueness and inwardly drawn state of being. Everyone had a rather clever and/or unique name on the net, for blogs, for gaming, etc..., but I wasn't one to call myself "Lord of the Dark Castle Trivian" or whatever. I truly wanted to be unique. Once, someone actually told me I had "enkognedo" spelled wrong. They innocently thought I was trying to spell "incognito", which i was not. I wanted the connotation of incognito to be there, but not the actual spelling. It is "enkognedo" incognito, so to speak. That's what I was going for and the proof was already in the pudding, as you can see.
Second, this site is here to help me market my ideas and accomplishments. Namely for Roanokemerchants.com and any offshoots thereto. It is my blog, created by me, for my purposes. I will do with it what I wish. It is a work in progress, to which end, I hope I never "complete" it. Growth is with innovation, not finality.
And third, I am using this as a means to explore new horizons. For instance, I have it setup on my home computer. That's right, it is not hosted elsewhere, though DNS is managed elsewhere. I have the MySQL, PHP, and the entire site basically setup on a single computer in my basement. So, everything you see here, comes from what I have created and put together. Update: I no longer host this on that computer in my basement. I decided to move it to 1&1 for both security and ease of management. It is all about learning and having a method to do that. Creating enkognedo.com affords me the opportunity to grow my knowledge of websites and how they are managed.
I thoroughly enjoy working with things like this and hope that I will eventually benefit beyond just the knowledge. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Your suggestions are always welcome!
